There is new work from Anna Garforth! I posted about her back when, and i was very happy to see her again via Creature Comforts today. I love this woman's creativity. I can tell that she is breathing inspiration everyday, and that's how I strive to live my life.

I can't wait to see this with my girlfriends (who happen to be upcoming brides and bridesmaids) this friday! I can't think of a better start to the May Long weekend!

Girly Movie Monday Geekout

I saw Scott Pilgrim vs. the World recently and loved every 8-bit of it . It was a perfect adaptation of the comic! More on that later..... but for now, here is the music video from "The Clash at Demonhead". I didn't recognize that it was "Black Sheep" by Metric, but I should have guessed when she shook her hair from side to side!

Yes, Maybe and Don't

I almost forgot that Nia Vardalos is a Winnipeger! I have watched 3 of her movies and I have some comments.

Yes - My Big Fat Greek Wedding:
Watch this one. It's charming and funny and fun.

Maybe - My Life in Ruins:
It's entertaining and has some "moments". It's set in greece, and I love all movies involving travel. It reminded me of my time in Rome. And it reminded me how much I love gelati:)



No - I Hate Valentines Day
The only reason that I may have a slight twinge of regret for turning this off early, is that I may have missed out on more goofy effects that I can now make fun of. After one circle fade, a slow motion running scene, and a tapas bar utilizing comic sans for their signage, I had enough. Even if you are a sucker for the girly movie, there are other movies out there, to spend your time watching. I'm sorry Nia, but this movie was REALLY bad!

Can't wait!!!

With essentially the same plot as The Proposal, but set in Ireland, this movie is guaranteed to make me happy.

I went to see "The Proposal" last night. I needed a pick me up after a long week, and this movie did the trick. It had the classic ingredients of a good girly movie, and it made me feel like I was at a family gathering in Sitka, Alaska (or Rockport Massachusetts, where the movie was filmed). I think Sandra Bullock is so beautiful. And Betty White is an adorable Gammi! I have loved Ryan Reynolds ever since "Definetly Maybe". If you are looking for a fun romantic comedy, The Proposal delivers the warm fuzzies and a few laughs.
